Rachel Bacosa


Rachel Bacosa (she/her) is a Resilience Consultant with Acknowledge Alliance. Rachel was born in the Bay Area and earned her B.A. in Child and Adolescent Development and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Jose State University. She has been in the educational field for over 20 years, working as an elementary school teacher, cooperating teacher to teacher candidates, District SEL Instructional Coach, and educational consultant to organizations focused on developing social, emotional, and cultural competencies, resilience and well-being inside and outside the classroom. She has facilitated restorative circles, social and emotional learning (SEL), and culturally-sustaining classroom lessons for students, teachers at various educational levels (preschool, elementary, middle, and university), and to families.

Rachel is passionate about providing strong relationship-building, cultivating compassion, and implementing strength-based practices to support the exponentially growing mental health needs of teachers and students. 

Rachel is a wife and mother of two, loves nature, hiking, photography, music and dance.
